Once again Guardian’s new journalist Niha Masih is presenting a biased account of her coverageof India. In doing so she is further lowering the credibility of the Guardian. Her article dated 17 July titled, ‘We are impatient’, ‘meet the women protesting for change in India’ is about some women who have become known nationally because of the protest. The protest was never about change in India. It was about the resignation of the Education minister following the leakage of exam papers. Like all protests it was quickly taken over by the far left, anarchists, anti nationals and opportunists. Over 100 policemen were injured by the protestors. Properties were vandalised and cars were set on fire. Many young women abused the PM of the country with foul vile language. They even abused PM Modi’s late mother. Whatever sympathy the protestors had was lost. A lot of noise was made about Gen z but their behaviour raised a big question in India. Was the language used by them an example of what Gen z is or was it the behaviour of just a small minority?
Niha talks about the women who she says were thrust into the spotlight during the protest. Nehha Bora, President of the left wing All India Students Association is one of them. She is an example of how the Cockroach Party protest was taken over. She wants a university where education has not been turned into an opportunity to profit. Fair enough, but she has gone on to talk in favour of Umar Khalid who is in jail on terrorism charges and for the violent Naxalite movement. Niha goes on to talk about Rhiya Ahir who blocked a police van carrying CJP workers. She is a Model. She claims that she was trolled for wearing a swimsuit. She reacted by asking what about the uncles in chaddis(shorts) at Ganga Ghat. A strange comparison indicating her view of Hindus. Actually no one cares if she wore a swimsuit. However if you are a social media diva accept to be trolled. Lastly Niha talks about Danish Ali who has been suspended for a year from university for dismantling a facial recognition system. She is the Joint Secretary of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union representing the United Left Panel. During the protest she went on a hunger strike and was admitted to hospital in a critical condition after seven days .The hospital nursed her back to good health. Hope she was thankful to the doctors. It is obvious that the protest movement was heavily infiltrated by the left wing students. Niha must give the full picture to her Guardian readers.
