Hindus Failed to Defend P.M. Modi

The Cockroach protest which took place in Delhi between 6 June and 25 July 2026 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi practically held the country at ransom. The protest was infiltrated by rabidly anti Hindu forces from the left wing agitators to the so-called Gen Z students(those aged between 14 to 29). These students shouted profanities against PM Modi which were so full of opprobrium and scurrilous that it has left the nation stunned. How could young boys and girls use such depraved language for the leader of the nation? Even Modi’s mother was not spared nor was Lord Rama. On 20th July when the Delhi police moved to block the protestors from invading the parliament the anti-India social media sprang into action. Within minutes reels were circulating all over India and abroad. The police they said acted with brutality. The fact that over 100 police officers were injured by the violence of the protestors was drowned by the social media team of anti-Hindu forces. The smashing of cars and property went unnoticed.
The protestors had won the crucial battle of narratives. Their support increased manifold. The only Hindus who defended Modiji on social media were individuals who were not affiliated to any organisation or any sect. The scale and depth of the anti-Hindu forces in India is an eye opener and frightening. Frustrated by the success of Modi’s leadership they are desperate to dislodge him by whatever means. The protest gave them a unique opportunity to destabilize the country. Meanwhile the almost billion Hindus were silent. They were just watching the events unfolding on their TV sets. The Hindu organisations, their leaders and Gurus were all quiet. People who shout loudly Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Shri Ram were nowhere to be seen. Where was Bajrang Dal, RSS, VHP, and hundreds of Hindu sects each one with millions of followers. In Delhi itself there must be thousands of RSS swayamsevaks. Why were they not mobilised to tackle people who were abusing PM Modi. Why were Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Swami Ram Dev and hundreds of other Gurus silent. Did they not think how Modiji would be feeling about the abuse he was being subjected to? All these Guru’s and Hindu sects are always trying to get Modiji to come to their events. But when it came to defend him there was absolute silence.
It is the same in the UK. Groups that surround Modiji on his visits and shout Bharat Mata Ki Jai were nowhere to be seen or heard during this protest. Meanwhile the Indian Students group organised a pro-protest demonstration outside the Indian High Commission. In many battles that we have had to fight for the Hindu cause in the UK most Hindu organisations have not bothered to ask their members to participate even in their individual capacity. Whether it is a demonstration outside the BBC or the Guardian most Hindu organisations and sects will not attend. You would struggle to get twenty people.
During the desperate fight to stop the Caste Lobby from bringing in a Caste legislation most Hindu organisations stood back. When you have someone like Arundhati Roy coming to give a lecture at LSE in which she will defame Hindus with great enthusiasm, Hindus will not go to challenge her. Our DNA is to avoid confrontation at any cost. When I challenge the biased British media I am told by many friends, ‘why do you bother, they are idiots’! If you cannot defend your Dharma what is the point of saying I am a proud of Hindu. Crucially when a real challenge confronts our Dharma and you do not react, all the days and years spent in a Dharmic organisation are a self deluding waste of time.
Modiji has done a lot for Indian’s abroad. He has made it so easy for us to live in India, he has made the High Commisons much more open to connecting with the diaspora. During this political crisis Modiji must be thinking where were the Hindu sects and Gurus. Make no mistake Modiji has not only saved the Hindu heritage of India he has put Dharma firmly in the heart of the Hindu majority India. History will place him with the greatest heroes of Hinduism.
The tendency to sit on the fence and avoid confrontation goes back thousands of years. In the Mahabharata Bhisma Pita and all the Rishis present when Draupadi was being disrobed kept quiet and watched the spectacle.We must get out of this mindset of not supporting other Hindus in order to protect our organisation or sect.
