Pankaj Mishra is hyperventilating consumed by envy, hatred and a dystopian mindset.(Britains first Hindu Prime Minister is destroying Tories pitiful vision of diversity, 28 Oct.) Sunak he says is a self proclaimed Hindu. If Sunak is a self proclaimed Hindu, Mishra is an individual consumed by the hatred of Hindu. You can almost feel Pankaj Mishras world falling apart at the recent turn of events. How could a follower of Hindu Dharma which he hates with every bone in his body become the Prime Minister of the UK? According to Mishra, Sunak observes upper caste taboos against beef and alcohol. Caste is never far from Mishras world view. No practicing Hindu eats Beef irrespective of Caste. Sunaks educational achievements and career is also a problem for Mishra. Mishra a medicore author is no doubt envious of Sunak. Mishra refers to Sunak as over promoted Tory, ‘ Desi ‘. Sunak was elected by his Parliamentary Party. He was not promoted. Mishra also take a swipe at India. The new India he claims has swiftly discarded its pretensions to Gandhian values. One wonders what Gandhian values does Mishra hold.
Mishra concludes that the new, ‘Asian Representation’ is leading a cruel Tory programme of mass impoverishment’. This is a racist slur by Mishra. Holding on to discredited and failed ideologies Mishra is making a fool of himself.
