The London Guardian/Sunday Observer Journalist Tim Adams Sheds a lot of tears for Ravish Kumar.

In the Sunday Guardian/Observer dated 2 July 2023 Tim Adams wrote an article with the title: ‘ Resistance is possible: Ravish Kumar the broadcaster risking his life to tell the truth about India today’.

Tim tells us that India today is going through a nightmare akin to the one described in the book called, ‘Nineteen Eighty Four’. George Orwell’s 1984 is a book about a state controlling every aspect of a citizen’s life. It controls free thought and any expression of individuality. It can be safely said that Tim does not have a clue of India and its democratic institutions. It is a typical, ‘ we are morally superior’ than you syndrome. Ravish, he says, fears for his life and lives with his family in hiding. He is petrified of hate messages and social media trolls.  Ravish should know that if you are an ideologically biased journalist writing fake stories you will not receive a bouquet. He resigned from the NDTV after it was taken over by Gautam Adani, a friend of Modi. Here was a man struggling to preserve his conscience and freedom in face of overwhelming hostility according to Tim. He says India now has a media which is eager to demonstrate how nationalistic and patriot it is to curry favour with the ruling party. No mention by Tim of how NDTV under the ownership of Pranav and Radhika Roy was a bastion of anti-Modi propaganda. Ravish was their poster boy doing the bidding of his masters. No mention either by the charges faced by Pranav and Radhika Roy of money laundering and defrauding a bank. Tim claims that the Modi government goes after media establishments which oppose the government. He cites the BBC as an example. No mention by Tim, a defender of the truth that the BBC has admitted avoiding tax payments. Journalists like Tim love to mention how India is sliding down the UN’s Human Rights table. According to PEN, an international charity India is only a, ‘nominal’ democracy.  PEN was established with two CIA linked organisations in memory of former president of Philippines Ramon Nagasaysay. Ramon was the favoured politician of the Philippines for the CIA. A documentary producer  Vinay Shukla has made a documentary on Ravish. It is called, ‘ While we Watched’ . It means the Modi government is not hounding Ravish, he is very much free to go about his business. Tim should concentrate on digging deeper in the Slave origins of the Guardian and the Observer.
