Another Indian academic expresses his anti Modi prejudice. Chietigj Bajpaee, who is a Senior Research Fellow for South Asia Studies at Chatham House declares:
‘Trade agreements and military exercises with the West, as well as jobs and study for Indians, were more important than the limited carrots that Moscow could offer, even if Modi were keen to preserve a civil arrangement with Russia.’
The same Bajpaee has talked about Modi’s anti-Muslim and Hindutva rheortic.
India, he says wanted military exercises with the West, jobs and study for Indians. A juvenile observation. Military exercises are taken with mutual agreement, which benefits both sides, jobs also benefit both sides, hence UK signing a free trade agreement with India. UK universities do need Indian students and many are opening branches in India.
It really is a surprise that a Senior Fellow can reduce a debate to such juvenile levels. But then with a co-author of this article being Amrit Dhillon it is not a surprise.
