Give him any award, and he’ll come running’: Narendra Modi racks up honours on overseas trips | Narendra Modi | The Guardian https://share.google/poGbeyQTsTNup6xjM

Hot on the heels of a vengeful article on Hindus and PM Modi Hannah has written a piece expressing jealousy regarding Modi receiving honours from many countries of the world. The Indian PM, she says, has a habit of collecting awards on his travels abroad. She adds some awards are first awards with him being the only recipient. The global ‘push’ for prizes is symptomatic of Modi’s personality driven politics. Jealousy and envy can blinker your thought processes . Awards are given by countries which appreciate PM Modi as a respected world leader. He does not go seeking them.

The last award from Seychelles was in appreciation of India giving it maritime surveillance aircraft and coastal radar systems to safeguard Seychelles exclusive economic zone. India has also donated millions of dollars to Seychelles for projects like social housing and even forensic science. The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands located in the western Indian Ocean. India has a ‘Mahasagar’ plan to safeguard the Indian Ocean and hence the strong ties between the two countries.  Ancient Indian’s called Seychelles Shank Dwip meaning an island of Conch Shells. Hence the word Seychelles. This was at a time when Europe was still in the dark ages. During his recent visit to Ethiopia Modi received their highest honour called Great Nishan of Ethiopia. India is a leading investor in Ethiopia with Indian companies investing over $5 billion dollars in sectors like manufacturing, agriculture and pharmaceuticals creating tens of thousands of jobs. India is also leading Ethiopia’s digital transformation and AI technology. No wonder the Ethiopians have honoured Modi. Again India has ties with Ethiopia going back tens of thousands of years. It is believed Lord Rama’s sons had established kingdoms there. Countries as far apart as Norway, Brazil and Slovakia have given their awards to Modi. He has not asked for it. Here is a man who donated 14.3 million free Covid doses to 98 countries including Barbados to the Dominican republic. Modi is a visionary who has brought the concept of giving rather than exploitation. It is a new way of looking at the world. Hence he is feted by all the leaders of the world. However when you are full of hatred and envy you cannot think straight and make juvenile claims.
