The Guardian view on Narendra Modi’s gen Z crackdown: he cannot arrest his way out of a democratic crisis | Editorial | The Guardian https://share.google/kg1LNAsizmsvu88SQ
Once again the Guardian in its editorial tries to mislead its readers with a one sided account of the protests taking place in Delhi. It claims Narendra Modi presided over a heavy handed crackdown on the protestors. Delhi police is an independent institution just as Scotland Yard is not controlled by Burnham. Delhi police declined permission for a protest march. The protestors chose to ignore the police. The police had no alternative but to take action. They were attacked and abused. The Election Commission has updated the electoral roll. There has been a massive infiltration of illegal immigrants into Bengal. They get the Aadhar Cards from corrupt politicians which is as good as a passport giving them freel access to all the privileges offered to the citizens of India including a right to vote. This is how they build a vote bank.
If the protestors have an issue with the Election Commission they should go to the courts and follow a legal process. A ragtag of anarchists cannot be allowed to take over the capital city.
In the UK the police are dealing with Palestinian demonstrators for weeks now. Nobody is saying Burnham is responsible. In Paris most violent demonstrations are taking place. The police have a duty to stop anarchy. It does not mean that Macron is a dictator. The Guardian lectures Modi on democracy. He has won 3 consecutive elections. The vast majority of Indians are disgusted with the antics of these protestors. BJP will once again win with a big majority in the next election. The Cockroaches will soon be a distant memory.
In another article on the same day Niha Masih dramatised the restrictions put by the Delhi police calling it as a militarised zone. She claims video images show protestors being manhandled and beaten. She fails to mention the attacks on the police. She quotes Yogendra Yadav, a failed politician whose real name is Salim. He turns up at any anti government protests. He has said many times that he does not believe in regime change through elections. He is a fascist of the left variety. Niha is lowering the reputation of the Guardian by writing half truths.
To top it all we have an article by Hannah in today’s Guardian((14 October 2026). She asks a rhetorical question, ‘How Do You Explain Deletion of 130 Million Names’? However she answers herself: Tens of millions dead and duplicate names have been removed. So we can see where the figure of 130 Million comes. She adds that this
figure is more than the population of Japan. Well we are talking of a country with a population of 1.4 billion people. In the last elections in 2024 969 million people were eligible to vote making India the largest democracy in the world. In that context 130 million names mostly as Hannah says of dead and duplicate names is not that much.
Hannah claims that the Modi government is disenfranchising tens of millions of Muslims, other minorities and the lower Caste communities. Who are the other minorities? Regarding lower Caste communities more and more of them are voting for Modi as they realise he has brought them real change. Hannah mentions the case of a 34 year old woman who has been sent back to Bangladesh. Hannah claims that her parents have lived in India for decades. But in a freudian slip she ends up calling her a migrant worker.
That there has been a massive illegal migration into Bengal is an indisputable fact. India cannot afford to have so many illegals who rely on government services like health and education and other largesses given by the government. Hannah being in India is perhaps not very familiar with the scene here in Britain. The Conservative leader has promised to totally ban asylum claims for illegal immigrants, remove 150,000 illegal immigrants every year and deport all new illegal arrivals within a week. She has also promised to deport all foreign criminals. PM Burnham has also promised to return illegal migrants quickly. I shan’t mention the draconian plans that Nigel Farrage is planning for illegal migrants. Does that mean UK’S main political are Christian nationalists and that the UK’s democracy is a flawed democracy? It is becoming clear that the Western media and anti India forces are pouring in vast resources to destabilise a democratically elected government. However today’s India is too powerful to be bothered by the enemies it is facing.
