Hannah Ellis Petersen on the Cockroach Party

As expected Hannah Ellis Petersen has enthusiastically reported on the Cockroach Party protest
in Delhi. She claims more than 50,000 people took part in the protest. An exaggeration of 40,000.
But the Guardian is known for its partisanship. Hannah pours out her antipathy towards the ‘Hindu government of Modi’ just as she has been doing for many years. To her frustration Modi has become the most admired leader who has won 3 elections. According to Hannah, Modi’s BJP party has ruled for 12 years and amassed unprecedented power at national and state level. People she says are routinely jailed and persecuted living little room for dissent. This is a canard casting aspersions on India’s fiercely independent Judicial system. She accuses the police of using brutal force. The protest did not have the police permission. The area is in the close proximity of the Parliament. Instead of obeying the police orders to move the protesters attacked the police. Around 100 were injured. That clearly shows that the protest was hijacked by left wing anarchists and opportunists looking to topple a democratically elected government. The anti India forces like the Guardian, Amnesty International and self appointed moral crusaders from Germany to Norway to Switzerland are screaming from the rooftops. If only they understood that the new India is not going to take lectures from anyone least of all from those who have a murky past like the Guardian founders role in the slave trade. Indian’s can only pity their frustrations.
