Indian chiefs are riding high in Silicon Valley.
A report by Danny Fortson in the Times dated Saturday 4 December describes how Indian origin
technicians are making big waves in California’s Silicone Valley.
My comments were published in the paper.
Born in Rajasthan, Twitter’s new boss Parag Agrawal is one of a growing club at the top of California’s tech industry — big brains that were grown in India’s cut-throat Institutes of Technology.

Not only in the US but in many countries with substantial Indian diaspora, they have excelled. The whole of East
Africa under British rule was built by Indian’s. They continue to be big players in these countries right up to present time
Indian doctors, entrepreneurs, skilled and unskilled labor force have helped changed the landscape of the Emirates. In Ethiopia Indian Professors and teachers have taught generations of Ethiopians.
Here are some reasons of their success:
1 An ability to master local languages.
2 An aversion to violence and criminal activities.
3 Giving back to the country they have made their
home. Indian entrepreneurs have given huge
donations to leading Universities in the US.
4 A culture that encourages hard work and family
values.
5 Naturally gifted
6 The emphasis on Education right from the time of
Independence.
