Jyoti Mehta BBC Proms producer of a tribute to Lata Mangeshkar

This Friday 28 July 2023, the BBC Proms pays tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, with a live orchestra and Palak Muchhal singing some of her greatest hits. For those who missed out on tickets to the sold-out show, you can enjoy it live on TV on BBC Four at 8pm. It is available on iPlayer thereafter. I (Jyoti Mehta) am absolutely honoured and delighted to be producing the TV version. It is also my first ever live broadcast.  Unexpectedly, this Prom has turned into a Mehta family team effort. Lata’s music was the soundtrack to my childhood and I hope I can do justice to her talent and legacy.
