Following is my reply that was published in the Times comments page
Amrit Dhillon deliberately tells half truths knowing that the British audience is unaware of the real facts. She might even think that it pleases the Times readers to hear an Indian trashing her country. She probably expects some brownie points. But the British Times readers are not that gullible. The opening of a Rama temple which was originally destroyed by the Mughal invaders came after decades of Court battles. Concrete proof was found of a Rama temple on the site. PM Modi has not timed the opening of the temple to help win the elections next year. There is no one in India who doubts that Modi will win a third term because the phenomenal progress he has brought to the country. People have realised that the Congress party and the fellow Socialists and Secularists have deceived the masses and paid lip service to bring prosperity and progress. The likes of Amrit and fellow journalists just cannot stomach the India they are seeing. Hindus are the majority and their ethos and values will get more prominence just as in Britain the Church holds a lot of sway in the major events of the state. Nobody calls Britain as right wing Christian nation which harms the minorities. Because it does not. In a way I sympathise with the likes of Amrit. They really are desperate and clutching at the straws.
