As the voters go to exercise their right to choose the Party which will win the next election, the media will have played a very big part in their decision. Ever since he became the Prime Minister and specifically after the declaration of the election date the mainstream media has left no stone unturned to discredit and humiliate PM Rishi Sunak. The Media has also been partisan and dishonest in its attempt to turn voters against him.
There has not been a word of praise from the media for Rishi stabilising the economy and bringing down inflation. Rishi solved the contentious Northern Ireland Protocol issue, he successfully managed to get the parliament to eradicate smoking completely. Due to the declaration of elections it has not become a law yet. This was no small achievement considering the powerful smoking lobby. A major achievement of Rishi is that he has passed legislation
to ban export of live animals for meat. It has taken 50 years of hard fought campaigns to get this legislation passed. Rishi honoured his pledge to ban this vile trade. Rishi has plans to overhaul the education system and to transform Britain into a successful high achieving nation.
However the media has tried every trick to turn the people against him. The first attack of the media was to focus on the wealth of the PM. They insuitated that a person of his wealth could not understand the situation of working people. Rishi was being pilloried for being rich. In a Capitalist economy you were being looked down upon for being rich.
Not satisfied with accusing him of being rich, the media started personal attacks.
Rishi Sunak, they said, has an image problem. He has an awkward manner, he is clumsy, he has no empathy or compassion. A former government officer said that Rishi comes across as unlikeable and a bit weird and tetchy. This type of character assassination is designed to break an individual and demotivate him. Luckily Rishi is made of much sterner stuff. He has brushed aside these negative elements and focused on work in hand.
The Labour Party led by Sir Keir Starmer has had three debates with Rishi Sunak. In the third debate as in the first debate Rishi outflanked Sir Keir on every policy issue. Sir Keith was left floundering. In contrast Rishi spelled out a road map for the regeneration of the nation. And yet the BBC claimed that the debate was a 50/50 draw. Most of the national papers decided not to give any importance to the debate.
Here is what Rishi has spelled out:
1 Welfare costs will be cut by stopping welfare payments if an individual remains out of work for one year. There are at the moment 700,000 job vacancies. We have one of the worst work cultures in Europe.
2 Immigration will be brought down every year and illegal refugees will be sent to Rwanda.
3 Pensioners will not incur any tax.
4 There will be no stamp duty for first time home buyers for houses upto £450 000.
5 There will be some kind of National Service for young people. This is important as it will instil discipline and respect for the law amongst young people.
In contrast Sir Keith has not been able to explain how he would fund the things he has promised in his manifesto. He has no plans of sending illegal refugees back which means he will give them a right to stay and many more will come.
Sir Keir has pledged to create 40,000 extra appointments in the NHS every week. Where would he find people with the right skills to execute these appointments every week? This pledge is Sir Keir’s fantasy which will never be fulfilled. Sir Keir has also announced that stamp duty for first time buyers will go up. This is a kick in the teeth for every young person aspiring to buy a house. The Labour Party may also introduce some tax on pensions as opposed to the Conservatives who have promised no tax on pensions at all.
This will impact millions of struggling pensioners negatively. Sir Keir is also going to introduce VAT on fees paid to private schools. This will result in the closure of many excellent schools. It will bring down education excellence and the country will lag behind many other nations.
Rishi has addressed the critical issues that the British people are concerned about with clarity and honesty. However the minds of the British people have been poisoned by the media. Ultimately behind the media hatred of Rishi is his Indian heritage. A lot of journalists and newspaper editors as well as BBC and other TV Channels simply cannot accept a Hindu Prime Minister.
There is still time for the great British public to drop the anti- Rishi stance and vote for the Conservative Party for the greater good of the country.
