back with her anti-India bias

After a hiatus of a few months Hannah Ellis Petersen from Delhi is back with her anti-India rhetoric.
She claims India turned a blind eye as Hasina’s regime in Bangladesh turned oppressive and autocratic.
Unknowingly Hannah gives India a backhanded compliment in assuming India could sort out the mess in
Bangladesh. She even claims that India persuaded the US to ‘knock off any pressure on Hasina’! Hannah
is giving India a super state status! Ever since India saved Bangladeshis from the Pakistani army and its atrocities committed on them, the country has been divided between those who want a Islamic Bangladesh opposed to the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan and those who want a tolerant secular country.
Hannah says that the interim leader Muhammad Yunus will set up new elections but it could be months
before that happens. She does not mention that Yunus has spoken to PM Modi assuring him of the
safety of Hindus in Bangladesh and his appreciation of India for all the support it has given to the country.
Hannah who has no interest in the persecution of Hindus fails to mention the looting, beatings and destruction of Hindu temples just after Hasina’s government fell. What Hannah calls rising anti-India
sentiment in Bangladesh is from the extremist party supporters, the same people who opposed the
Independence of India. Hannah says the toppling of Hasina is a setback for the Modi government.
India can handle the so-called setback. It is up to Bangladesh to decide its future.
It is a shame that a Guardian correspondent is so biased and unprofessional that she cannot mention
the persecution of Hindus who have been driven out of Bangladesh over the years. Luckily the
Guardian is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Running in a huge financial loss they will soon
be dishing out redundancies.
