The following response has been sent to the Editor of the Times and Amrita Dhillon.
Dear Editor
The article by Amrita Dhillon (Taj Mahal is crumbling due to anti-Muslim neglect) is malicious and designed to create anti-paths towards Hindus. She claims that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath is a follower of Modi the Hindu nationalist PM of India. She then exposes her prejudice by claiming that the leaks and cracks in the Taj Mahal is due to their antipathy towards Muslims.
The fact of the matter is that this 400 years old structure is the responsibility of the Archaeological Survey of India. They are looking into the ware and tear of this building which is exposed to many elements. The Supreme Court of India also has the power to order the preservation of the Taj Mahal. No politician can challenge the Supreme Court.
Here is what the so called Hindu nationalist PM Modi has done for the protection of the monument. He has ordered the building of a Metro up to the Taj Mahal to stop the vehicle pollution. It is going to cost over a billion dollars and is due to complete in 2025. The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh when he visited the site swept the floor.
Amrita Dhillon is well known for her anti-Hindu bias which verges on hatred of Hindu. It is a shame that the Times publishes these hate filled articles which do not have an ounce of truth.
